Bobbie Lou Mohundro

Bobbie Lou Mohundro, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 4, 2013 with family by her side.

Bobbie was born in Dallas on July 20, 1940, the youngest of six children born to Robert Martin and Alta Mae (Bryant) Hurst. Bobbie was raised in Ferris and graduated from Ferris High School in 1958. On September 26, 1958, Bobbie married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Lee Mohundro in Ferris, Texas. They lived several years in Ferris before settling in Bristol where they raised their family. She loved the Lord and faithfully attended Bristol Baptist Church and First Baptist Church - Ferris during her lifetime.

Bobbie was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her home and family, especially her grandchildren in which she had a special relationship. She found great pleasure in watching them participate in sports and other activities. She loved vacations in their travel trailer, reading, working in the yard, garage sales, crossword puzzles and games. She was a wonderful seamstress and was a member of the last quilting group in Bristol to meet and make quilts for the Thanksgiving Day celebration. Her family is most appreciative of her “Sunday Dinners” and the memories and love they generated.

She has left this world, leaving behind a wonderful legacy as a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Bobbie was predeceased by her parents: brothers, Billy Hurst and Kenneth Hurst; sisters, Joyce Grounds and Betty Huskerson. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Tommy Lee Mohundro; daughters, Lisa Spurgeon and husband Charles of Bristol, Texas and Camille Benitez and husband Robert of Ennis, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Johnson and wife Maranda, Derek Johnson and wife Sarah, Cord Benitez, Whitney Spurgeon, Courtlyn Benitez, Charley Spurgeon and Kim Spurgeon; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Landon, Addison, Eva-leigh, Hayley, Kennan, Kyle, Blake and Bailey; brother Don Hurst of Greenville, Texas; sister-in-law, Darlene Hurst of Rockett, Texas and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, family and friends.
